2019 Middle School Swim Dates/Information

Swim Equipment:

For practice, a one piece suit for girls and swim trunks/shorts for boys is necessary.  Goggles and water bottles are recommended. Be sure to bring a towel or two with you. For meets, we have a team suit for Catholic High. However if you do not wish to purchase one, a black or red suit is recommended, but not required. Swim caps are provided by the team.

The female suit is The Finals Reactor Splice Competition Back in red/black. 



The male suit is The Finals Reactor Splice Jammer Suit in red/black.


Regular Meets:

Each school will participate in three regular-season meets.  Tuesday meets will have warm-ups at 5:00. Swimmers must swim in two individual events; they must also be prepared to swim a relay if asked. The Meet dates are as follows:

  • Tuesday, April 2
  • Tuesday, April 16
  • Tuesday, April 30

Championship Meet:

The season will conclude with a championship meet on Tuesday, May 7.

Meet Format:  Swimmers may swim two individual events and two relays per meet.  For scoring, 5th and 6th graders will be scored together and 7th and 8th graders will be scored together.

  • 200 Medley Relay
  • 50 Back
  • 50 Fly
  • 100 IM
  • 50 Breast
  • 50 Free
  • 200 Free Relay

Location: All meets and practices will be held at the Earl J. Chris Pool, off of Eraste Landry (part of the Robicheaux Center).  Be on time as pool time is very valuable. If practice is at 7 pm, swimmers will be in the water at that time so plan accordingly (i.e., cap, goggles, bathroom).

Practices: Practices Begin Monday, March 12th

Tuesday, 6:30 – 7:30 pm

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00 – 8:00 pm

Fees: There is an $85 league fee per swimmer; pay this fee is payable to COLA to be turned in at the pool.  These fees include pool usage and meet fees.
